Director Aerospace & Warfare at CASS, Lahore, with 33 years of PAF service. A PhD in International Relations, he has held key command, academic, and advisory roles, authored research works, and co-authored the PAF Air Doctrine-2007.

Education
Dr Air Commodore Naveed Khaliq Ansaree, TI(M) (Retd), holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Karachi (CGPA 4.0/4.0) and a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from Deakin University, Australia. He is also a graduate of the Centre for Defence & Strategic Studies, Australian Defence College, Canberra.

 

Professional Experience

Dr Ansaree served 33 years in the PAF, during which he flew multiple fighter and trainer aircraft, and later civil airliners following retirement. His command, staff, and instructional assignments included serving as Advisor to the Royal Saudi Air Force, command of a PAF combat squadron, a flying wing, and a base, as well as Senior Air Staff Officer of PAF Southern Air Command. He was twice a faculty member at the PAF Air War College, Faisal, Karachi, and was also a co-author of the PAF Air Doctrine 2007.

He has held significant academic and advisory roles, including Academic Advisor and Dean of the Global Study Centre, as well as Sponsor Director of the National Security and Research Methodology phases at the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore. His contributions have been recognised with several professional and academic distinctions, including the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military).

Areas of Interest / Expertise

His areas of expertise include air power, strategic studies, defence policy, international relations, and national security. He also has a strong interest in military education, doctrine development, and regional geopolitics.

 

Academic Contributions

Dr Ansaree has authored and co-authored several academic works, including contributing to the development of the PAF Air Doctrine 2007. His research has been published in journals of international repute, and he has actively contributed to military and strategic thought in Pakistan.
