The longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China is characterised by profound mutual trust, strategic collaboration, and a vibrant economic partnership. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a pivotal component of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), has further cemented this alliance and is poised to drive infrastructural development, energy security, and economic prosperity in Pakistan.
This partnership extends beyond cooperation to contribute to mutual support in international forums. It not only enhances regional connectivity but also strengthens national and regional security frameworks through collaborative efforts in counter-terrorism and defence.
Acknowledging the critical nature of these bilateral relations, the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS) in Lahore hosted a guest lecture by the Honourable Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Zhao Shiren, on Thursday, 13 June 2023. The lecture, titled “China’s Growing Influence in Global and Regional Politics: Benefits for Pakistan” delved into China’s expanding influence and strategic pursuits on the international stage.
During the lecture, attendees gained insights into how China’s geopolitical strategies influence global and regional stability and the advantages Pakistan can derive from this strategic partnership. The event attracted a diverse group of stakeholders, including government officials, academic representatives, and policy analysts.
