Research Assistant

Amjad Fraz is a Research Assistant at CASS, Lahore, exploring geopolitics, climate security, and strategic affairs. With a background in International Relations, he brings diverse experience from academic research and internships with international organisations.

Amjad Fraz is a Research Assistant at the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), Lahore, specialising in geopolitics, intersectional and eco-conscious research and strategic affairs. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in International Relations from the National Defence University (NDU), Pakistan, where his research focused on the gendered impacts of climate-induced disasters.

Previously, he worked as a Research Assistant at both the NDU and the Area Study Centre for Africa, North and South America at Quaid-i-Azam University, where he contributed to research projects on cultural diplomacy, counter-terrorism, global governance, and foreign policy. His work involved data analysis, literature reviews, and policy writing. He also served as a Teaching Assistant at NDU, assisting in course development and academic research.

Beyond academia, Fraz has interned and collaborated with multiple organisations on ethnic consciousness and interculturalism, human rights advocacy, and public diplomacy. He was actively involved with YFK – International Kashmir Lobby Group, where he researched human rights violations in disputed regions. Additionally, he served as a Friend of Corner at Lincoln’s Corner, US Mission, Islamabad, where he organised and moderated discussions on socio-political issues, climate activism, and minority rights.

His research has been presented at an international conference, and he is contributing articles to national dailies and policy forums. With expertise in qualitative research methodologies, data visualisation, and academic writing, Fraz remains engaged in interdisciplinary research and strategic discourse.
