Muneeb Salman

Associate Senior Researcher

Muneeb Salman is an Associate Senior Researcher at the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), Lahore. His research interests include Pakistan’s foreign and security policies, strategic culture, epistemic communities, and the role of elites in policy processes.

Muneeb Salman is an Associate Senior Researcher at the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), Lahore. His research interests include Pakistan’s foreign and security policies, strategic culture, epistemic communities, and the role of elites in policy processes.

He has worked at several public and private think tanks in Islamabad for more than five years, including the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), and the Maritime Study Forum (MSF). He was the youngest member of research faculty at a public sector think tank when he joined IPRI at 22 in October 2021.

He holds BS and MPhil degrees from the Department of International Relations at National Defence University, where he received the President’s Gold Medal for the MPhil batch of 2022-2024. He also received research and professional training at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and ADA University, Azerbaijan.

Muneeb maintains a keen interest in using digital media for strategic communications and open-source data collection. He led the pioneer social media team at the Department of International Relations, NDU. His MPhil research included devising a prosopography of knowledge experts on international relations and national security studies using open-source data.

His research has appeared in national and international journals, newspapers, blogs, and media.
