Zahid Khan

Associate Senior Researcher

Zahid Khan is an Associate Senior Researcher at the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), Lahore. His research interests include political economy, geopolitical strategy, and national security. He is a professional researcher, educator, and peer reviewer.

Education

He holds a PhD in History of International Relations from Shanghai University, China, and a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Peshawar.

He has been awarded several prestigious scholarships and fellowships, including the Best Academic Award from Shanghai University in 2019 for outstanding research contributions. He was also honoured with the IPSA Award in 2018 for his research presentation in Brisbane, Australia.

Professional Experience

He served as a researcher at the Centre for Global Studies, Shanghai University. His teaching experience includes positions at Bahria University, Islamabad, and the Area Study Centre (Russia, China, and Central Asia) at the University of Peshawar. He was awarded a fellowship from Hohai University, Nanjing, and his scholarly activities have included a lecture on South Asian politics at a Shanghai University summer school, as well as conference presentations at the International Political Science Association (IPSA) in Brisbane, Australia, and at Peking University, Beijing.

His core research interests focus on the intersections of political economy and geopolitical strategy. He also maintains a strong scholarly focus on issues of national security and diplomacy.

Academic Contributions

He has authored numerous publications in well-rated international journals. He serves as a peer reviewer for several leading social science journals, in addition to his role as a member of an editorial board. His research excellence has been recognised through awards such as the Best Policy Paper Award from the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
